My story
For ten years, my body was in constant distress, and no one could tell me why. I lived with chronic pain, recurring fevers, and a fatigue so deep it touched every part of my life. I saw doctor after doctor. My labs came back textbook normal every time, and I was told again and again that I just needed an antidepressant. But I wasn't depressed. I was sick, and I knew it.
Eventually, a functional medicine provider ran a different kind of testing, and for the first time I had names for what I was carrying: CIRS, mold illness, chronic Lyme, chronic EBV, and more. It was freeing to finally know something real was going on. It was also sobering to hear that he was surprised I was still functioning.
By then, illness had shaped everything: my marriage, my work, and how I showed up as a mom. I was chronically overwhelmed and overstimulated. I went through protocol after protocol, reacting to everything and never truly getting better. Without realizing it, I had started to wear my diagnoses like an identity.
Then came the day I decided this could not be the whole story.
I knew there was freedom, and I went looking for it. After years and a small fortune spent, I began to see what had been missing. The protocols had come before the foundations. And underneath it all was so much I hadn't tended to: unprocessed emotions, trauma held in my body, agreements I had made, spiritual battles, and fear. Nearly every decision I made came from fear instead of love, and my body never felt safe enough to rest.
So I went back to the basics. I rebuilt the foundations of my health and the foundations of my walk with Jesus. I did trauma work, learned to process emotions, and received inner healing prayer. God gently showed me how much my thoughts, beliefs, and fear-based choices were pulling me under. My body needed to feel safe before the deeper work could take hold.
I'm not completely free of symptoms. But my life has changed in ways I once couldn't imagine. My body speaks to me now instead of fighting against me. I move every day without chronic pain, and I praise God for that. He keeps pursuing the wounded places in me, and I'm living in a season of nourishing and flourishing.
That's why I do this work. If you're tired, dismissed, and wondering if there's another way, I've been there. It is a gift, a calling, and a joy to walk alongside you.
